Baked feta with cherry tomatoes

This summer I visited Greece for the first time and discovered what I already supposed for a while, that I love greek food and that I could eat greek mezzethes(=appetisers) all day long, every day.
When I came back from vacation, I felt inspired and I begun recreating some of my favourites at home. In this way you can take a vacation at home by eating the food you loved when you were on holiday.

Servings: 4 as a snack, 2 as main dish
Difficulty: easy
Preparation time: 10 minutes + 20 minutes cooking time

Ingredients:
  • 200g feta cheese
  • 200g cherry tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • salt
  • pepper
  • olive oil
  • aceto balsamico
Method:
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  • Halve the tomatoes and put them in a bowl together with the oregano, garlic, some salt and pepper, olive oil and some aceto balsamico or other type of vinegar. Mix well.
  • Sprinkle some olive oil in an ovenproof dish and put the feta cheese in the dish.
  • Pour the cherry tomatoes over the feta cheese.
  • Put the dish in the oven for 20 minutes.
We like to eat the baked feta with pita or any type of white bread, olives and small sausages, as can be seen in the picture.
Enjoy and while you are eating, imagine you are in Greece!
